The application makes extensive use of Django's contrib.admin app, integrates to an Oracle DB as well as Quark Express to generate print publication. The code is open sourced, but that has added many challenges---trying to make it useful for others while meeting the very specific needs at GCC. The next version will probably not be released as open source, but with the goal of extracting the useful stuff to make available as individual apps or snippets.
