I find Brainz' clean design easy on the eyes, making it worth my time reading as much as I can there. And the content ranges from entertaining and amusing to quite useful.

As the designer of Brainz, I'd like to thank everyone for the comments regarding the look and feel of the site. Ryan has a great vision for the product and I'm honored to be a part of it.
Just the other day I showed Brainz to one of my friends, as an example of a design I really, really like. I just love it, except maybe for the extra-large titles.
Design looks clean.. and the navigation is easy and feels natural.
I like the layout fine. The one thing I need is a little more color contrast. For me, the pink of the brain and the grey of the navigation bar don't mix. For me, I think the color of the logo is what bugs me the most. The pink of the brain and the yellow of the two middle letters doesn't mesh for me.
I like the StumbleUpon-like random post feature. I'd like to see that feature remain at the top, even after I've clicked it once so I can do it again if I want to without having to navigate back to the button.

Brainz is a great combination of breaking news and quality content. I really enjoy visiting the site to see what's new. You could say that Brainz is a no-brainer. Bravo!
Brainz has the very structured design that suits to the tagline "Learn Something". The Logo is a plus point that gives a good opinion about the site definitely has the content to learn something. Browse topics in the menu items has a categorized hierarchy that helps the visitor to go to their interested topics as well. Instead of searching, the users can use topics to reach their findings.
Every post title has the ability to deliver the abstract of the post, especially in the size they appear. And the voting results at left of the post title increases the chance to choose the best content among them. it has the extra point that it allows to put comments by Disqus comments.
At the right side, there are more empty spaces that makes me think of "the site has the minimum content"(may be in future, it will be filled). By overall, "BRAINZ" is simple so worthy.

I prefer this design to cracked.com - a lot less noise and less distracting colors.
